I just want to thank you for your role in one of the most difficult situations I've ever dealt with. When I first called, I heard Linda's dogs in the background, and I knew I was dealing with real people who cared -- not just some company. Jeanette called twice to make sure I knew what was happening and what to expect, and I felt like I was talking to a friend. You eased my fear that Penny had been "alone," and I knew she'd been well taken care of. The box is just beautiful, and the personalized card and certificate really mean something.

It has taken a little while to write this, but I want to express my heartfelt thanks to Jeanette and the others at Heavenly Days.

After speaking to Jeanette, who was so kind and comforting, I knew that when the end came, Krita would be well taken care of.

Krita (“Creeta”) was my beautiful Chocolate Point Siamese, my faithful friend for 15 years. Siamese are a special breed, they like to “talk” and are not shy in any way. Krita loved heat, his favorite place was on top of the clothes dryer. I miss his vocal greeting when I get home at night, our “conversations,” and his snuggling with me under the covers at bedtime.

Everything about Heavenly Days is first-rate. How I wish I had known of them when we lost Krita’s brother, a Blue Point Siamese named Si Fah.

Thank you so much for everything that you did for my baby Rajah & I. I was very wary about whom to let take care of my princess in her final days because she meant so much to me. She deserved the best & by putting her in your hands she got the best farewell, and return back home, that I could have given her.

Every one of you was so gentle with your words and tone. You put me at ease no matter which emotion I was fighting through at the moment. You all paid attention to each of my little details, got them perfect, and even added your own special touch. Everything you’ve done for Raji and I is much appreciated.

It took us awhile to overcome our grief and let you know we appreciated your sincere end-of-life care for our dog, Caramel.

After 18-1/2 years of having a fluff ball of a dog romping around the house, we needed that soft touch at the end. Caramel tried to keep up with us, but we finally realized her time had come in late August 2015.

You placed her ashes in a nice wooden box with her name engraved.

Her memory lives on, and so does our appreciation for your service.

Losing a pet is one of the most emotional events we have to deal with in life. It helped so much to have the comfort and professionalism exhibited by Heavenly Days during our time of loss.

It has been a little over a month without our beloved Gibson with us. His loss hit us hard. It was our first Christmas in 16 years without him. However, we have the beautiful box you prepared for us with his ashes in it and his name on it. It has a spot in our family room so he is with us in spirit every day. The envelope filled with a certificate, a guardian angel pin, and his details meant a lot to us And we love the fact that you make a small contribution to the Washington Humane Society.

Thank you also for your lovely postcard checking in on us. We are very glad that Falls Road Veterinary Hospital recommends your services - we had no idea where to turn. I previously called at Dr. Perl's suggestion to confirm that the box was not sealed so I can scatter her remains.

We discussed selecting a dignified box without any labels, that I can keep after Monkey is in her final resting place.

You picked a lovely carved wooden box, that is the perfect permanent momento I will keep on display.

Working in the veterinary field, I had referred many clients to Heavenly Days. My boss had directed me to let all of our client's know that they are the best around, and although I had never experienced their services myself, I had spoken to the staff there many times and could always tell they were kind and gentle people who cared deeply for their clients and wanted only to make the process as easy and pain free as possible.

Not until I had to utilize them for myself did I truly understand what I had been telling clients over and over again. When my Asia passed away, I made the call to Heavenly Days and was greeted with such kindness and sympathy. A gentle voice asked me information about my kitty and gave me time to cry in between answers. I was reassured many times that my girl would be treated with respect and be handled in the gentlest fashion.

I was able to take my time in choosing her urn as well as the necklace to have her ashes in. They even called me to find out if I wanted her to be cremated with the blanket I had her wrapped in as well as if I wanted her toy to be in there with her. I was so touched that they considered my needs so deeply.

About a year later, I had to go through the process again when our other kitty Sheba was put to sleep. The kindness, consideration, and sympathy was the same. Heavenly Day's was truly wonderful and I am grateful that I had them to lean on during the difficult decision making process. It made the whole experience easier and brighter than I could have imagined. I trust them fully when it comes to the respect they have for their client's babies.

I want to thank them all for how wonderful and kind they were. It means so much to me that I am able to look back at a time of such grief and know that there were many people there who only wanted to help me through the process.

My girls are missed, but because of Heavenly Day's I have them with me always. Their urns are by the window where they are able to look out at all of the birds, just as they loved to do when they were here with me. Thank you Heavenly Day's. I truly appreciate you all.

Our regular vet recommended Heavenly Days when it was time to put our beloved dog down. He said that he has worked with this crematory for the past 30 years and has the highest regard for them. He is not mistaken. Though I never met the staff at Heavenly Days, and my dealings with them was all by phone, I am so glad that I chose them. Linda and Jeanette, who I spoke with on the phone, really understood what a pet owner goes through when their loved one is gone. They were gentle in asking questions about how we want things to be done, never pressuring us on getting all the extras. They were more focused on making us comfortable about making the final arrangements for our dog. When Jeanette called me to say that Milo' ashes are ready to be picked up at our vet (they picked up his remains from our vet and returned his ashes there for me to pick up), her voice was just the kind of voice you want to hear- like hearing your grandmother talking to you in a sweet and loving way. When I returned to my vet's clinic to pick it up, it came in a bag with other goodies which were just a nice touch: the little doggie pin with the angel's wings, the nice card signed by Jeanette and and a little card that says they have donated to the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County in memory of our beloved dog. This place is a class act. I felt comforted by them in this difficult time.

Thank you for the beautiful, dignified way in which you returned Gabby to us.

She was so sick when she died and we were so upset to see her that way, getting her back in the lovely wooden box we chose with the ribbon and flowers on the lid and her name painted in gold on the bottom certainly represented the cat she was before she became ill.

Gabby was a precious girl, she had a beautiful soul and that is how she was returned to us.

We lost our sweet, goofy, loving dog, Gibbs, after a months-long battle with cancer. He was only three. And he was our wedding present to one another: He joined our family two days after we got married.

We had three years of laughter and joy with Gibbs. When we found out that his cancer was back only a few months after we'd been told it was (hopefully) gone for good, we knew we were going to lose our friend. During the months of chemo treatments, Gibbs was a happy boy, despite the cancer. He was happy until almost the very end.

Though it felt like we had envisioned the day we would be forced to say goodbye over and over and over again, when that day came, we fell apart.

No one should have to prepare for final arrangements in the throes of such intense grief. Having to do so is one of life's many unfair constants. But we were very lucky that Heavenly Days was there to care for our Gibbs. And for us, too.

When I called to discuss what we wanted for Gibbs, I couldn't get more than two words out at a time, and I doubt they could be very easily understood, as they were muffled by sobs. But the Heavenly Days staff was so patient, empathetic, and caring. They even told me to call anytime, just to talk if I wanted to. And they meant it.

To all of you who have to work with Heavenly Days - you have my most profound sympathy. But know that your pet will not only be handed with care, but cared for. They are everything you could want in people who watch over your pet. I trusted them with a part of me, and would recommend them to anyone.

Dear Jeanette,

Thank you so very much for your kindness to Frank & me as we chose a box for Joy. We retrieved Joy from Friendship Hospital for Animals today (Saturday).

As everyone who has every had a pet knows, it is never easy to make that decision for the ultimate sacrifice in loving our pet. However, knowing that Heavenly Days makes it possible for us to still have her helps ease the pain.

Joy always loved to ride in the car so when I would do errands during the day, she always accompanied me – except in the extreme heat of summer. Frank & I jokingly thought maybe we keep her box in my car so she’d always be going for a ride.

I didn't know anything about Heavenly Days - a vet I hired to come to my house to put my dog to sleep said she would take Louie there.

The next day I called to make the arrangements. I was so heartbroken, I could barely speak.

I was really touched by Jeanette's empathy, gentleness, and patience with me on that first phone call - and the ones after. When I told my daughter that it felt like they really cared, my daughter responded "They probably do, Mom. They didn't know Louie but they know about the families the dogs have and there's something about what they do every day that keeps them doing it every day..."

Louie was "my" dog - even my kids would agree that he was a mommy's boy. There is nothing like a dog's devotion to its owner. And Louie was so sweet and loving for almost 15 years. He had lost his hearing and some of his eyesight, and his back legs had a mind of their own by the end. But it wasn't until he fell down the stairs and hurt one of his front legs (only one good one left, and that made it too difficult for him to eat or drink, or do his business. And he was a very dignified standard poodle) that we knew the hard decision to put him to sleep had come.

When I picked up Louie's ashes, again, I was struck by the respect and heartfelt understanding portrayed by Heavenly Days (or is it Jeanette again?)

His ashes box had a ribbon and flower. His clay paw print was protected in a clear box with the date and identified the print as his front left paw. Enclosed was a dog guardian angel pin and a note about a donation given in Louie's memory to the animal welfare league.

I give them a lot of credit for dealing with grieving pet owners all the time.

It takes a pet owner/pet lover to understand what we are going through. Thank you Heavenly Days, especially Jeanette, for your support for the pet owners, but mostly for the love, dignity, and care you undoubtedly showed Louie while I wasn't even there to watch.

I am so grateful to you for taking such good care our our Rick. I adopted her and her brother over ten years ago, and haven't looked back. The duo brought so much joy as do the memories. She had been suffering with a few issues before the cancer showed up on the last x-ray. The staff at Nebel Animal Hospital and I had been trying to get her to take medicine for serious gastro-intestinal problems. She wasn't able to eat much. Always in good spirits and lifting me up when I felt sad I couldn't help her. We finally found more natural medicine and she seemed to be doing better. Her appetite increased and she was more like herself- keeping me company and watching birds from the window. She started looking very tired and I took her in to check her out when the x-ray showed her lungs full of fluid and the cancer in her stomach- which had already spread. The staff at the hospital were very kind in explaining the prognosis, which helped me to let her rest peacefully. I hard decision to make because we want to keep our furry friends with us forever. Receiving your call and the beautiful box brings back pleasant memories of my white-pawed tiger. A beautiful box for a beautiful soul . She and her brother will remain in my heart forever.

In Memory of Daisy

Daisy was my beautiful, loving, spectacular friend and companion for 9 of her 11 years--a golden chow (plus??) mix. She succumbed to cancer suddenly on November 21, 2013. I am heartbroken and shall miss her terribly.

I thank the emergency staff at Friendship Animal Hospital for their support in her last few hours, and I thank Jeannette at Heavenly Days for her kind understanding and gentle treatment of my sweet Daisy, and most of all I thank Daisy for gracing my life.

On November 11th, 2013 I lost my best friend and our family dog Heisman unexpectedly. For eight years we went through college graduation, starting my first job, moves to the west coast, east coast, ending relationships to beginning relationships and eventually finding the perfect mom. Living in a studio apartment with me (sorry bud) to buying our first house with a yard. He became a big brother 2.5 years ago to our daughter Cora who adored him and he returned the love. Heisman was a 95 lbs baby with the biggest heart and mild manner temperament of anyone I have ever been around.

I was away on business in San Francisco on the night I got the call. Heavenly Days, helped me hold it together while we were working out the details. They were professional, sympathetic and caring.

To Heisman: I love you buddy! Search for the perfect stick for me to throw to you some day on dog beach and you better watch those Penn State games! You have a huge fan base down here missing you. I love you and I will carry you with me forever.

I want to give my sincere appreciation to Jeanette at Heavenly Days. She was so very kind and compassionate. Dear Heavenly Day Staff,

I want to thank you so much for all the love and support you all show when someone has lost their beloved fur baby. Marley May was my best friend, my companion and one smart and amazing girl. Though, she was just a guinea pig to others, to me she was my everything. Marley picked me to be her mommy, and I chose to answer and love her unconditionally. My sweet 5.5 year old Marley passed away on my chest listening to my heart beat on September 3rd, 2013 at 9:45 pm. I've been crying non stop, but knowing she's is in good hands with you guys makes it easier to know she will be taken care of until returned.

On my way to Heavenly Days, I didn't know if I was doing the right thing as to having her cremated. But, once my best friend and I got there, the sweetest lady came out and greeted me and treated us so kind and simple. I cried a little and she told me to go have a seat with Marley and thats when I knew we brought my girl to the right place.The vibe and the feel of this place is amazing. The way everything is set up when you walk in, it makes you feel like this place is filled with love. I wish I could remember her name but this lady was so sweet, and even looked around for the urn I wanted to put Marley in. She told me it was beautiful and read it to me. I couldn't ask for friendlier staff.

We had never lost a pet and were at a loss for what to do at a time when we were very emotional. We appreciate all the assistance and the way everything was handled.

On November 23, the day after Thanksgiving, we lost our 14 year old lab mix Scout. We adopted Scout from the Jackson County Illinois Animal shelter almost 14 years to the day we lost him and he was most certainly a large part of our family.

He was such a good dog. We joked that he never met an experience he didn't plunge into head first and love every second of it. He lost his sight about 2 years ago, and slowly lost his hearing, but he never lost his love for other dogs and people. Losing him was painful for us, and also for his 13-year old "brother" Murphy.

What a blessing to have been referred to Heavenly Days by our vet. From the first contact to the most recent, the staff has been kind, compassionate and caring. Calling Scout by name, asking us to call when we brought him home safely, and showing genuine concern throughout the process. We were able to take our time selecting the box he would come home in, and when we asked about going a size larger, we were told "no problem, we can do whatever you need".

I can't say enough about how much this service means to us. Thank you for all that you do. I have already told my friends and family to request Heavenly Days when the time comes to say goodbye to their furry, scaled or hairy family members.

Attached are two of our favorite photos of Scout. One where he is enjoying a spring afternoon in the yard and the other on a "walk" in the little red wagon we got for him after he lost his sight - he loved going for walks!

I would like to thank the entire staff of Heavenly Days for the care of our sweet Gizmo. I greatly appreciate the kind assistance and patience I was given throughout the very difficult process of Gizmo’s passing. October 17, 2012, was one of the most difficult days I have ever had, knowing that I would have to let my best friend go due to health issues. When I first contacted Heavenly Days that day, I felt they truly cared about the animals their families. I knew he would be well cared for.

He was respectfully and lovingly cared for. Everything I requested was well done.

When he returned home, the gentleman who brought him to us said “The Dude is home.” This was touching because this is/was the name my father calls him.

The donation in Gizmo’s name, condolence card and angel pin were very sweet and appreciated.

Until my time comes to meet Gizmo at the Rainbow Bridge, I will miss his physical presence and his wise, sweet, silly and caring spirit. I know that there is another guardian angel watching over my family and me.

Thank you for taking care of Hermes for me. I appreciate all the effort that was put into it and he came home beautifully today. He had spent a short time with me, but has left such a big spot in my heart. Every morning when I would get up and make the slightest noise, he would peak out from his hidey house to see if it was me and then come out to ask me for a treat. I did everything I could for him up until the last moment. I spent hundreds of dollars on his medication and treatment, and couldn't afford much when he passed.

It was hard to find a crematory that didn't charge me an arm and a leg for my little baby. And I just couldn't let him go. I want him to be with me always. Then I found Heavenly Days and am so glad to have such caring people taking care of him for me.

Thank you so much. The last bit of my money went towards having him with me. You wouldn't not believe how happy I was to find this place. I was saddened at the loss of my dear boy, but happy that he can stay with me. Thank you for having such reasonable prices at such a hard time for me. I will definitely let people know of this wonderful place.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to everyone at Heavenly Days who took such good care of my angel "Shiloh". This has been the most difficult thing for me to go through. Jeanette was so understanding and easy to talk to. She made me comfortable the minute she answered the phone. She spoke so sweetly to me and with such compassion. I really appreciate it. I love all the beautiful urns and boxes you have to choose from. I picked the most beautiful one with the help of Jeanette. I absolutely love the paw print frame! It makes me cry whenever I look at it but it also helps me cope because I now know she will always be close. The paw print heart necklace is so special. I've been wearing it every day! The sympathy card and angel pin were also greatly appreciated.

Shiloh was such a constant presence in our lives, always stuck to our sides especially if we were in the kitchen where a little niblet might have come her way. She had so many little idiosyncrasies that made her so special. My boyfriend and I miss her so much! Hopefully, as time passes, this difficult time will become easier for us.

I lost my little Valentine a couple of weeks ago. The idea of letting someone else handle her lifeless body was simply too much for me so I called Heavenly Days and asked if I could witness the entire cremation process.

When I arrived at their location in Urbana, MD, I was pleased by the warm, peaceful and welcoming environment. The setting made me feel better right away. I held a memorial for my little Tina and then was able to place her body in the crematorium... Witnessing her body go in and come out of this huge machine might be too much for certain people to handle but for me, it simply gave me closure and ensured me that I was getting her remains back, not anyone else's. Greg from Heavenly Days was wonderful; he was careful and delicate with my little angel, and was very informative and patient towards me.

I plan on adopting another little dog and I know that Heavenly Days will be the place for me when the time comes to cremate my second pet.

I miss you Valentine (2001-2011), you are my forever dog.

Greg, Linda and Jeanette,

Thank you for your kindness, respect and caring of our beloved miniature dachshunds, Dolly (6) and Cupcake (15). Dolly passed just recently on 5/16/2011. Cupcake passed away 12/2/2010. The staff's sensitivity gave my family and I a great sense of comfort during this very difficult time. My family lost both pets within five months of each other. Too much to bear. Too much to cope with in such a short period of time. I know our pain will heal eventually. Fond memories will replace our tears with a smile every time we think of Dolly and Cupcake--our devoted little buddies.

The paw prints are beautiful, especially with the mahogany frames. The brass name plates were a wonderful touch. Cupcake's memory reads: a loving and loyal companion. Dolly's memory reads: a sweetheart and fierce protector.

Each and every one of you are so very kind and understanding. I was really in bad shape, as Jeannette especially knows; and I want to thank you in particular, Jeannette, for your kindness and understanding. You gave me the option of taking my time with the plaque, which did wonders for me.

The death of a pet is a traumatic event. It has happened to me twice within the past year. The first one I allowed my veterinarian to “take care” of the cremation. Two weeks later, my beloved little cat came back to the vets in an ugly plain wooden box half filled with newspaper and a small bag of ashes. With my second loss (within 2 months) I did some homework and checking on my own for a crematory company. That’s when I found Heavenly Days. I called their office, was able to go to their web site, was able to visit their facility, and actually met the gentleman who performs the cremations. All of the people at Heavenly Days had great empathy, sympathy and understanding for me at this time. I was able to actually choose the container for Rudy’s ashes, they clipped some hair for me and they made a clay impression of his front paw. Heavenly Days made me feel so comfortable that I could have witnessed the cremation if I wanted to.

The ladies at Heavenly Days kept in contact with me - notified me when their driver picked Rudy up from the vets office; called when his ashes and paw print were ready to come home and even followed up to make sure everything was home and safe. The box came home with lace ribbon & flowers and a dog guardian angel pin for me to wear.

This is really a small business who cares about their clients. They consoled, listened to, and made a very difficult time much easier. I wish all businesses treated me (and my pet) with such dignity.

My vet offered your cremation service as an option, and I've been very pleased. You were very pleasant on the phone, spoke very respectfully of Amber, and overall you provided excellent service.

In particular, when you found that the wood box I had ordered for Amber's remains had a chip on it, you had the consideration to call me and ask if I still wanted it, or if I could wait until you ordered a new box. (And you recommended I wait for a new box, without a chip, which was a good call.) I really appreciate your thoughtfulness there. Thanks also for accommodating my request for two plaques, when only one is conventional. (I had a lot of words to share with my kitty.)

Dear Ms. Buel

This letter is LONG overdue but I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the help your wonderful staff provided me when I took Maggie to your facility for an individual cremation. Maggie was put down at my vets office when it was discovered that she had a rapidly advancing case of bone cancer. It was quite a sad time but your staff made the entire process easier.

I actually took a look at your facility several years ago when you were in Rockville since I knew this day would eventually come and I wanted to make the right choice when choosing a cremation facility. Your staff is very knowledgeable, took the time to show me the facility and answered all the questions I had. Many thanks to Greg, Jeanette, and O'Shea for all their help - you should be proud to have such great employees working there.

I have since adopted anther Rottweiler on May 5, 2010 from the same shelter where I got Maggie - when the time comes (hopefully not for many years) I will certainly be using your facility again. I had Maggie for almost ten years and she was a very loyal companion - there is no doubt that she would give up her life for me without having to think twice about it. She knew she had a great home and an owner who cared so much about her when there was a time she was abandoned by her previous owner. I can't say enough good things about Maggie and I still miss her so much but I'm glad I am able to help another homeless dog who is adjusting well to her new home - I think she knows she has a home for life !

Dear Linda, Jeanette & Greg:

When my 12 year old sheltie Duncan died at Friendship Hospital on August 4th, I was in shock, even though I had known he was "not long for this world." I had discussed plans with my family for burying him at our farm in Luray, but it was an eventuality that for me was in the future. When the vet asked me what to do with him, and I agreed to a communal cremation; at the time I told myself: "his spirit is gone; the body is just a shell." The fact that it was nearly 1am, and the next day's temperatures were forcast to reach 100 degrees made this seem a practical decision.

Later that morning I came to my senses, and there ensued a frantic series of phone calls to Friendship, and to your office. Jeanette was my first contact, and she was gracious and immediately helpful, calling Greg and ensuring that Duncan would be held until I could pick him up. I had planned to pick him up and drive to Luray; my brother got the backhoe ready and we were thinking about the best site. On the drive from Chevy Chase to Urbana I decided it would be wiser to have cremated instead. I only recount all this beacuse my mind was jumping to conclusions about what I would find when I got to your place.

I found a beautiful physical environment, serene and welcoming and full of love and respect for the animals. It was clear to me that the vision behind Heavenly Days was consistent and creative. My heart was breaking, but you enabled me to say a final farewell in the best way possible. Please understand that no matter how difficult aspects of your work may be, you are performing an honorable and exceptionally valuable service for our beloved animals.

Dear Heavenly Days Staff,

First of all, I would just like to thank the wonderful staff at Heavenly Days for taking care of our Otto. He passed away July 30, 2009 while receiving treatment at Negola's Ark in Gaithersburg, MD. His "big" heart just couldn't take all the surgeries anymore and he passed away, I hope, peacefully. Dr. Negola told us about your services, emphasizing the individual cremation and I remember saying to myself, "Isn't that how you are supposed to do it, is there any other way?" Because I was so naive, I did not realize other crematoriums did not conduct cremations in this manner and I thank God you exist and I am confident that the remains in the beautiful wooden maple box are Otto's remains and no one else's. We miss him, there's not one day that goes by where we don't think of our Otto. His absence is felt everyday in our home. Thank you again for caring.

Our sweet ocicat "Libby" lost her battle with kidney failure last week, just 3 months shy of her 19th birthday.

Although knowing this day would come soon & preparing ourselves for the decision, we are heartbroken with the loss of this loving member of our family. As we process our grief, we are also comforting her litter mate & constant companion,"Bella", as she tries to understand why she is now suddenly alone in her daily routines & naps. Libby had been a real trooper; the death of her owners(our friends Andy & Dennis) in CA, the trip back East & adjusting to a new home in DC, and for the past 3 years since her diagnosis with kidney failure(which meant weekly i.v. fluids, and eventual blindness). Throughout all this, she seemed to adjust & was happy being pampered, even having her own heated bed. Her previous owners,knowing of their eminent deaths, kept her by their sides until their last days on earth. As Libby was extremely loving & always a source of comfort, we can understand why they would. We hope, in return, we gave her the same amount of love and happiness in her life with us. She will indeed be sorely missed.

I want to express my gratitude for your services and share my thoughts with you so others can know about the loving care you provide to pet owners who lose their beloved pets. Losing a pet is very difficult since pets are family. When I lost my cat Esmeralda whom I called "Keeka" I was recommended to Heavenly Days by Friendship Animal Hospital in Washington DC. I was very distressed and grieving at that time and immediately said yes to the recommendation. I had not used your service before and when I got the call from your staff member Linda telling me that my "Keeka" had arrived safely at your crematory along with your condolences I was very much comforted by that. That call was an important one for me. Linda helped me select the urn and asked if there was anything else she could do to help. Linda even helped me by providing additional information about a pet cemetery I was familiar with in the past. When I picked up the urn it proved to be beautiful despite my tears. I elected to use your "Down Memory Lane" pet memorial on your website and your staff member Greg went to a great deal of trouble to make sure my cat's picture was put on the memorial properly. Thank you so much Heavenly Days Staff for making the loss of my "Keeka" less difficult.

I never thought I could give a five-star rating to a pet cremation service but Heavenly Days deserves it.

I had to put my cat to sleep after a long fight with cancer and I had horrible images in my head about how he would be treated. Heavenly Days called and I felt so comforted after. They kept referring to him as "My Thomas" which just touched me so much. They were wonderful and they gave me comfort after a very sad experience. The box made of wildflower seeds is very sweet and now planted in our yard.

Dear Staff at Heavenly Days:

I recently received the ashes of my dear cat, Gypsy. I have not communicated with you because I left on vacation two days after Gypsy's death, and so I got swamped when I returned home.

I just want you all to know that dealing with you was wonderful. The man who answered my tearful call on September 8, was so comforting and professional. He sounded so kind that I felt happy that my dear friend Gypsy would be in his hands.

I called two other crematories on the same day before I called you. I found them to be quite nasty and uncooperative. Both places wanted to tack on fees of more than $100 - $150 just to pick my poor Gypsy's body up for cremation. They also acted as if coming into Washington was like entering a dark and dangerous jungle. In fact, both places told me that they expected me to go to the Humane Society Shelter, pick up the body, and drive it out to them someplace in God-knows-where, Maryland. What's more, they said that this is what all their customers normally do! It was an unthinkable idea at that very vulnerable moment. It isn't that I didn't want to deal with Gypsy's death, but I was a bit afraid the body would be injured and probably pretty smelly at that point.

When I called you, you told me that picking up the departed one was part of your work, and you did not charge extra for it. I could have kissed that fellow I spoke to. Then, when I returned from vacation, I found among my many messages one from your staff informing me that Gypsy had been picked up and was safe with you; then another that he had been cremated that day; and, a third that he was being sent to me. I was really impressed at your staff's sensitivity and thoughtfulness, and sorry I couldn't return your calls when you left them. My silence did not mean I didn't care. It meant a lot to me that you treated him with such dignity and respect.

Anyway, thank you all for being who you are, and for really superior service at a point when I nedded it.

We have had several of our pets cremated here, and these people make the process so easy. Greg and Jeanette are so kind and compassionate. Twice they have picked up 2 of our deceased cats at Friendship Animal Hospital, and then they cremate them, and you pick out what kind of vessel you want the ashes in. They have a new website with pictures of all of the boxes. They can mail you the ashes or send them back to the vet for pick-up. It's a hard thing to think about and do, but these people at Heavenly Days make it so much easier, and they really hold your hand throughout the whole process.

I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for taking such good care of my beloved Heidi. Losing Heidi on August 3rd was very difficult for me and my family. She was 9 1/2 years old (January 17, 1998 - August 3, 2007). I am so glad that I entrusted her remains to Heavenly Days.

You have been so compassionate and have helped me through this difficult time. I appreciate you picking up Heidi at Green Valley Animal Hospital in Ijamsville for me. You were so wonderful on the phone and I probably called too much to check on Heidi.

I am thrilled with the hand carved wooden box. It is absolutely beautiful and the ribbon and flowers made it extra special. I loved the card and the Angel dog pin and it will be a constant reminder of my best girl.

Thank you for sending the donation to the Welfare League of Montgomery County in Heidi's name to help other animlas. That was an added bonus.

You are truly professional and compassionate and I would recommend your service to anyone who loved their pet as much as I did. I feel so much better having Heidi back in the family room. Even though the house seems empty with her living presence, having her back home gives us comfort. I wish that I had thought about cremating my other Miniature Schnauzer, Libby when she passed away in 1998.

Here are two pictures of my Heidi. You can use whatever one you want. She hasn't even been gone three weeks yet but I am still missing her terribly.

I just want to say thank you all so much for all you have done at the end of Nyla's journey.

You have made it all so easy at such a difficult time. You even went out of your way to pick her up in Catonsville Emergency Vet for me. You were so comforting over the phone, and I couldn't have asked for more! The box that you had chosen for her was amazingly gorgeous, I never imagined it would be so nice. It had little paw prints over it, and the ribbon that was around it just gave it that special touch, and that card, oh my gosh! But what really topped it all off was that beautiful little angel cat pin! Now that topped everything! And the donation you all do to help other animals, that was all added bonus! And I would HIGHLY recommend Heavenly Days to anyone that would love to bring their baby back home just for the comfort of knowing they are with them.

This is my Nyla, and I still miss her so much, she will live forever in my heart. She was 12 years old. (February 24th, 1995 - April 13th, 2007)

I know you said I was brave during the cremation, but it was still very hard on me. I miss her so much, and it has only been 3 days since I put her down. I have her sitting above my fireplace right now, but when I go to sleep, she sleeps with me again like she always use too.

They both were nice to me, and the animals inside the office were a nice comfort for me while, I was dealing with the cremation. Dear Jeanette,

Dear Jeanette, Thank you so very much for your kindness to Frank & me as we chose a box for Joy. We retrieved Joy from Friendship Hospital for Animals today (Saturday).
